A Fairy Tale
Author: Chris Hanley
A fairy tale I wish to tell,
Of where in dreams my mind did dwell.
Blue velvet walls, and long red tassels,
I dreamt I dwelt in ancient Castles.
High Buttress walls and turrets tall,
Surround this ancient banquet hall.
Strains of music filled the air,
With waltzing tempo's everywhere.
My Queen of arms, in crimson gown,
With ringlet hair, her back flows down.
Bedecked in jewels, of emerald green,
To match the eyes, no world has seen.
This knightly Prince, of world renown,
Whose heart you won forsakes his crown.
I danced in dreams, throughout the night,
And held you close on Pegasus flight.
Alone, all night with you I danced.
Our bodies swayed as feet advanced.
Round and round we twirl and glide.
Light as leaves, in autumn's slide.
What vivid pictures did emerge?
In sight, and sound when we converge.
No other in this dream pretense,
To mar or jolt this eloquence.
Tonight in dreams I will indulge.
In hopes my Queen she will divulge.
The answer to my life's long quest,
To share my realm is my request.
